There will be times,
more often than not —
when one longs for someone
to understand him, to truly hear him,
to heal him, to take his conflicts away,
to walk beside him,
or simply to hold his hand.
A man lives perpetually in such hope.
Hope for something to change,
for someone to change,
for some miracle to happen.
The window of hope has been left open long, my friend.
There are places his thoughts take him every day.
How long has it been this way?
Long enough I would say.
and the wait never seems to end.
Is anyone coming?
Who can take his fear and anxiety away.
Who can give him the peace and love he seeks.
Who can fulfil the void he carries within.
Who can simply take his pain away.
Simple truth my friend is –
There is no one. No one.
No God,
No family,
No friends or guru.
No one is coming.
All will be visible to him,
and available for him.
But no one coming.
With eyes set on distant horizon,
waiting is all he does.
To live in hope becomes his only hope.
And hope without wisdom, my friend is –
Misery postponed.
No one is coming.
And the ones who do come,
arrive with concepts,
rituals, ideas and
borrowed words of the elite.
In this deeply conditioned marketplace of cure,
what else can be available.
The Path of worship and devotion appears comforting.
But if reading Jesus, Buddha, or Krishna could take
one’s pain away,
most people would largely be at peace
and the world would carry some trace of it.
I travelled, walked and looked around,
I did not see it that way.
Man’s relationship with God
is rarely about veneration.
More often it is about fear,
Or hope.
Or demand.
Perhaps, God’s grace visits only those
who understand that – no one is coming.
Those who set out on the pathless path,
guided by silent authority of their heart’s voice.
Whether that voice leads them towards
seeking peace or pursuing their innate gifts,
it matters little.
Anyone who has achieved something real in life,
was driven by the fierce unwillingness
to live and remain as they were.
Rest was nature’s work.
The universe listens to the voice of the sincere.
This much I have come to know my friend.
In the end,
life will become about
regret, pain and conflict.
Only if the man could see clearly,
when he had the time,
when he had the strength –
That no one is coming.
A man has been
and will always be
responsible for himself alone.
My friend, the tragedy is not that no one is coming.
The tragedy is that he keeps waiting.
The sooner he understands this,
the better equipped he shall be
to stop chasing ghosts
and walk himself out of the blind alleys
where he resides.
When he stops waiting to be rescued,
he stops being a seeker —
and becomes the Source.
Because no one is coming.
